In brief

This Bachelor’s Degree combines work with study to prepare you to work in a field that requires strong analytical skills, rigour, and inventiveness.

The strengths of our Degree in Bioquality Control for Industry

The programme is divided into annual ‘blocs’ of courses. From Year or ‘bloc’ 1, you will alternate periods of academic study at the Haute Ecole with paid work placements in a company.

Bioquality is covered comprehensively. The programme includes a coordinated range of courses including quality management and supporting science and technology courses.

Our Degree is the only 3-year Bioquality programme in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

It opens doors to careers with excellent prospects in industries such as agri-food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology.

Good to know

Joint programme/Degree

This Degree is offered jointly with the Haute Ecole Louvain en Hainaut (HELHa). Year 1 and 3 courses (‘blocs 1 and 3’) take place at HE Vinci (at the Woluwe campus) and Year 2 (‘bloc’ 2) courses take place at HELHa (at the Mons campus).

A Degree that combines study and work

Our approach to learning combines classes and lab work at the Haute Ecole with paid work placements in a company.

The career

As a bioquality graduate, you will contribute to the design and improvement of the processes underpinning: quality, health and safety, reducing environmental impacts, and document management. The aim is to ensure that the products or services sold by a company comply with customer or market requirements, with company specifications, and with legislation. To achieve this, you will work with various departments across a company; interpersonal skills are therefore essential.

In the laboratory, you will ensure the biological, microbiological, and chemical conformity of raw materials, products under development, and finished products. You can be called on to work at all stages of production (supply, preparation, manufacturing, and packaging).

A career as a specialist in biocontrol will test your ability to analyse existing situations, to innovate, and to propose solutions; you must therefore be thorough and inventive.

A career as a specialist in bioquality offers graduates numerous opportunities to progress and to experience a wide range of roles in a company.

The Programme of Study

  1. Year (bloc) 1

In bloc 1 you will study the fundamentals of quality and the theoretical foundations of essential science subjects. Practical work will also be undertaken. You will also learn to take your first steps in a company through a period of professional immersion, which is scheduled from the beginning of the second term.

  2. Year (bloc) 2

In bloc 2 you will deepen your knowledge of quality management. The scientific and technical material covered also becomes more specialised. The bloc 2 work placement is spread over the two terms and constitutes half of the year's programme.

  3. Year (bloc) 3

In block 3 you will study the final-year courses in the first term. Three-quarters of the bloc 3 programme is devoted to an in-company work placement and a final-year dissertation based on a problem encountered in the company.
